My name is Chelsy and I am a third generation baker. I grew up in the small town of Chatham, NH. The only store around was my grandparents’ bakery just over the border in Stow, ME. It was at this place, that my love for baked goods was born. While my grandfather and uncle would knead the dough and fill the pastries, I would watch in awe, taking in all the sights, smells, and tastes of the bakery. As I got older, my grandfather put me to work mixing cake batters, scaling ingredients for sweet dough, and filling éclairs. I learned new things everyday. By the time I graduated high school, I had become skilled enough to fill in for my grandfather when he needed a well deserved day off. My grandparents eventually sold their bakery, and I was given my grandfather’s recipe book. It is one of my most prized possessions. I love baking his recipes now and filling my home with the smells that I remember and cherish from my childhood. I have a beautiful family now, and a husband who is my biggest cheerleader. They are helping me fulfill my dream of opening my own bakery, one pastry at a time.
